Is the I-5 oil pan painted on the inside?

I would not paint the inside. There is likely some type of anti-rust
coating on there but I would not attempt to duplicate it. The inside of
Chevy V8 oil pans are not painted and they have been around for ages.
The possibility of something coming loose is far too scary...
