side window mounting confusion

I bought a replacement window for the driver's door
in my '88 5000CS (p/n 443 845 021 G). Everything
looks right except that the hole in the plastic bracket
which accepts the pin of the window lifter is different
than the original.

The original bracket has a round hole. The new
window's bracket has an oblong hole and the
thickness of the bracket is greater by about 3 mm
making it impossible to reinstall the original
stack of rubber washers, etc., which secure
the window to the lifter's pin. The outer surface
of the area around the bracket hole is also
serrated rather than smooth as if a special
serrated washer or plate should go there.

Anybody have any idea what is going on? I've
looked at several cars in the family album and
they all seem to show a stack like my original:
rubber washer, window bracket, 2nd rubber
washer, nylon washer, 'c' clip.

The window does fit into the door ok.

Thanks for any ideas.
