side window mounting confusion

After a lot of research, opinion seeking and test fitting,
I have been able to determine that the mystery window
is most likely a miss-marked window for an Ur-S4.

Type 44 driver's window p/n = 443 845 021 G
Ur-S4 driver's window p/n = 4A0 845 021 A
The glass is exactly the same. The fittings are different.

There are differences beyond the mounting clip.
The front window guide pin that slides in the
a-pillar groove is shorter in the Ur-S4 window
causing this window to bind and stall in a Type 44
window frame. Also, the little plastic caps on the
inside heads of these pins are thicker creating an
interference problem when trying to insert the guide
pins into their respective channels.

If any of you old S4 dudes ever frequent this list, perhaps
you could comment on whether the front side window
lifting hole in the plastic window mount/clip is
oblong vs. round. (Actually, I think I'll go over there
and ask directly.) And if you need a driver's door
window, I know where you can get them.
