urS4 front end clunk

This may only marginally apply, but my '82 coupe used to have one of 
those "parking lot" clunks in the front end.  Probably at about the same 
age...

over time, I basically replaced every part that is designed to allow 
some movement, that is, anythign with a bushing.  As each one was done, 
the clunk became less and less noticeable, until I pretty much had to 
hallucinate it.  It seems like it was a combination of many parts not 
worn enough to be "bad", that allowed enough play between them all to 
make the clunk in low speed extreme steering situations.
