I think it's a copy.  All you have to do is look at the original next
to an '85 5k (no t, no q).  Even the headlights look the same.  Too
much for coincidence, I think.
Remember the Granada?  That was really Mercedes-esque with it's crisp
lines and raised front fender lines and tallish grill.

Release in '84 means there were prototypes running around a couple
years prior.  Those in the business get to see a lot more than we do,
just by where they roam.
