Why the *explative* (5ktq electrical)

Ok I got impatient and went out this eve to get some pictures and refresh my 
memory.

http://jcforbes.com/jcfpics/codysaudi/CIMG1791 - This is the plug in the car 
in question. It actually seems to be the exact plug that Huw's info 
describes, 5 wires in a 7pin plug.

parts car. 3 wires in a 3pin plug. This is what I keep finding everywhere I 
look.

3pin plug.


Is this yet another turbo vs. non-turbo thing? I distinctly remember check 
at least one other 5ktq though so I doubt it.
