Diff lock mods?

Seems like it would be a simple matter to apply a microcontroller to  
this process that would automate it by comparing command switch  
position to the position switches on the diffs and continue to pulse  
the actuators until they agree. This would also allow the pulse width  
to the actuators to be varied. As I understand it they are a small dc  
motor with a pinion gear driving a rack so there is a certain amount  
of transit time involved. A momentary switch doesn't necessarily  
provide the right signal unless it is held down for the right length  
of time.
