I became so FED UP with chasing idle problems on my 5KS that my fix was
to install a switch on the wire that sends the signal from the control
unit to the ISV. I used a spring loaded switch from another Teutonic
beast which fit perfectly in the console and popped back out to ON as
soon as released. Basically the same as disconnecting the ISV. As soon
as the car warmed up just hit the switch and idle would be perfect, in
the summer, leave the idle high when the AC was going to be used.
It's a BAD design, all the 5 cyl. CIS cars I've come across had idle
problems (stick shift). Currently the 200TQA idles between 1500-1800,
the 90Q idles around 1100, and once in a while does the hunt and peck.
Haven't had time to screw around with the 200 yet, on the 90Q I've gone
through all the usual suspects and nothing yet.
