Fix or replace oil pan on A6 Avant Quattro

I was actually looking at that stuff. There are a couple of brands, one
being HTS-2000 at aluminumfix.com, and the other being durafix
(durafix.com). HTS2000 is more expensive at $65 for 1lb of rods, and durafix
being $34 for 1lb. I considered one of these options just so I'd have the
rods for other aluminum repair work, but I think for a critical component
like the oil pan I'm leaning a bit more towards replacement. I'd rather not
have a sudden loss of oil and end up with a catastrophic failure of my
engine, as it's already got a whole lot of miles on it and is probably a
little tired as it is.

Ok, dont laugh. Yet.
Late night TV has this thing called alumiweld or somesuch. It looks
impressive. Some aluminum alloy that they can melt, bond and then
re-machine. They sell a kit. If it works, it wouldd be strong.
