Cam timing in the 10V turbo motor / windage tray

Is that the same for auto tranny's? Is it in the same area as the rpm and reference sensors?
I'm not sure which is the "port" side.
 

Ya, I got all oil pan bolts out. So you're saying I should try rotating the
crank to get the windage tray out? I tried sticking a screwdriver
between the oil pan and the lower gasket, but surprisingly it's stuck
together really darn well. I'm worried about bending the tray in the
process. Thanks for all the tips everyone.

Funny, I was thinking about hat mark today as a result of your post.

The mark on the HB is pretty much only for assembly, as the the HB
shifts over time (due to the rubber bushings) and the mark becomes
irrelevant.

You *have* to use the flywheel marks to time the crankshaft.
