016 transmission

Gentlepersons,

In short, my transmission pumped all its oil out past the seals, the Audi
dealership would not work or warranty any work on my transmission, so I have
brought it home and plucked it out of the car.

In the Bentley manual, 35.6, photo 34-887 shows unbolting a rear bolt on the
main shaft of a two wheel drive transmission to seperate the the gear carrier
housing from the gear carrier housing cover.  Is this the 12 mm - serated (12
flutes) bolt?  Do I need to remove this bolt to seperate the carrier housing
from the housing cover on the Quattro transmission?

Also, when I put this transmisson back together, is there a special sealant I
should use between the housings and covers?
