1990 V8 Radio Question (Not a Bose Question)

... excellent point! Funny, I've already converted both my cars over to the
Gamma-Bose units of the 1992-on V8s and a lot of other Audis of similar
vintage. The Gamma unit has direct inputs, so you don't have to worry about
the RF modulator kluge. Of course if your car happens to have some sort of
RF modulated CD changer installed, you *can* use a similar technique to the
A8 article posted to switch the line input lines into the modulator. I've
seen that article posted before ... to my taste it seems to be a lot of work
without a lot of return ... I want something that is integrated into the
deck.
My goal is to make it so that the ipod information ends up going to the
display on the dash and the ipod can be controlled to some level from the CD
changer controls on the face of the Gamma. The main problem seems to be
getting a hold of the interface specification for the ipod ... funny thing
is that just this evening I found that I can get a JBL box that has a remote
control interface for an ipod for $30 ... which is below my pain threshold
for stuff purchased for experimentation.
Good luck!
