A6 CV joint

If you heard something - the bearing is toast. You can clean and 
re-pack a joint that is is good condition, but tears a boot. If it 
clunks,. you are way past gone.

Its a big job, but do-able. Get bentley.  You have to remove the 
driveshaft, then use a puller to remove the joint, then get a new 
joint, spend an hour packing it with grease and another hour getting 
clean, then press the joint back on.  The last step can be the most 
troublesome, it seems.
