I had to add hydraulic jack oil to mine per the instructions (bleeding alone
didn't do it) and now it
works as advertised.
FWIW, I also had to install a roll pin to the handle release valve key in
the handle, 'cuz the original cheap sheet metal roll pin failed on it's
second use. I guess you get what you pay for, but it does work much more
effectively than the cheap Sears "3000#" floor jacks that you can get.
