Subject: 86 coupe temp guage

On my way to the paint/body shop today, the temp guage (digital dash) flew
up to the danger area.  I let off the gas and with the decreased speed, the
temp went back down to normal.  Me thinks I don't really have a temperature
problem.  Or do I?  Any guesses?   While sitting and idling, the temp reads
normal.  Maybe a temp sensor?
