Looking for a Audi friendly shop in Titusville FL or someone with VAG-Com that can pull codes

Hey all,

My wife is down in Florida with her 1995 A6 Quattro wagon with Automatic
transmission and its giving her tranny problems. Its shifting hard from
2nd to 3rd, and it might be doing it from 3rd to 4th as well. So I am
hoping to find a shop or someone who is near Titusville (town right next
to Kennedy Space Center) that can pull codes for her without having to
send her to the dealer who will charge an arm and a leg. The car is OBD
I not II so it needs the black and white adapators that plug in in the
fuse box under the hood.

So pleast let me know if you can recommend someone local to that area.

In the past, her car had gone into "limp home" mode and I ended up
taking the car to Dick Shine racing up here in Mass, they checked the
codes, cleared them and the problem vanished. I did have discussions
with a few people about this and its apparently a problem with the
wiring harness between the ECU and the connection on the drivers side of
the tranny. There is a sharp bend in the harness and the wires start to
break after 10+ years. How difficult is this harness to replace? I am
considering buying another harness, personally re-wiring it and at some
point going down to FL to replace it. Any thoughts on this as well?

Thanks!

Rob Beatty
