A6 fuel mileage

The 89 200Q is a turbo 2.2 L I-5 with a 5 sp manual tranny. On part
throttle, it's going to be relatively fuel efficient. The C4
100CSQ/A6 is a 2.8 L 12V V6, which, especially when connected to the 4sp
slushbox is a much thirstier beast. Heck my C4 //S6 with 20V I-5 turbo 2.2 L
I-5 and 5 sp manual tranny AND an MRC Stage 2 chip tune to 280 HP or so is
capable of getting 26 or so MPG on highway trips of significantly shorter
distance than 600 miles (try 90 or so). It's the reason that many mfg's
turned to turbos in the mid-eighties, the part throttle fuel efficiency.
Comparing a turbo C3 to a V6 C4's fuel economy is about the same as
comparing apples and oranges. It's just not even comparable.
