I recently made a one day, 600 mile, almost entirely interstate drive in my '89 200Q. At the beginning of the trip, I filled up the tank and reset the computer. When finished, it read 29.0 mpg. I do admit that it gets nowhere near this good in city driving, but I tend to use the boost a little more than I should. I average about 18 around town. Still, not bad for an 18 year old, 300,000+ (I'm guessing, odo stopped at 250k a few years ago) mile car. The first thing to check if you suspect the mileage isn't as good as it should be is ignition. I was getting about 14mpg city, replaced the cap and rotor that were pitted pretty badly, found the #5 spark plug badly fouled, cleaned it and replaced the plug wire on that cylinder, and it jumped up 4 mpg overnight. More boost now too. Love it.
