Distributor Position question

You have replaced only the distributor without changing the timing
belt. This should be a simple install. When the engine is at TDC
(meaning that the 0 on the flywheel should be visible half way see
here:

distributor's hall effect sensor should be aligned with its notch from
the internal and external housing. Tighten the bolt down and install
cap and wires. If it start and doesnt sound like its catching at all,
you may be off a 180 degrees.
If this is all good and verified, you could still test it with a
timing light and do some slight adjustments.
