'00 VW Passat Brake Pads

oem pads will have a wear sensor wire, runs through the pad material and
when the pad wears enough the circuit is broken and your 'you need brake
pads' idiot light comes on. you can use aftermarket pads w/ no wear sensor
but you'll have to short the wires that run from / to the pad. no biggie -
mine have been that way forever.

i run pbr ultimate ceramics and like them a lot. low dust, great bite,
cheap. 40$ ish a pair at purems.com [no affiliation just great prices +
service].
