Temperature Sensors on ECU

BTDT:

An '88 VW Fox (CIS-E) I once owned had a bad temp
sensor.  Damn ECU thought it was well below zero when
it was 90 F in the shade.

The result was a car that was flooding out and
DANGEROUS to drive when it warmed up.  It would stall
out without warning.
