90 sedan water help

I don't have a 90 sedan, but I'll take a swing at it.
Probably somewhere above trunk floor level is a reservoir/chamber large
enough to contain the water supply that yielded the inch of water you mention.
What chamber could it be?
Also, was the water that appeared limited to one side of the car, or did it
appear on both sides? The answer might reduce the number of possibilities
for location of a chamber/chambers.
When considering "chambers" I'd look for a water level in a tail light. Has
the car got light pods in the trunk lid? That is another possibility.
Turn on the tail lights and have someone rock the car while you stand
behind the car and look for a water level in the light pods.
