[A4] tires, speaking of tires, anyone have any used 17's lay'n around?

I tend to feel the same way. However, -- on a more factually driven  
note -- I ran different front and rear brands on my 1991 90q20 for  
about 30k miles with no ill effect. I'd also note that uneven front <- 
 > back wear probably causes more "slip[" than two different brands.
