the design is sufficiently different, obviously audi redid it because
of all the problems on the b5 series. the consensus on the forums is
that the b6 front end's are much less problematic. my a4 isn't as hard
on CA's, as my friends with b5 s4's in SF go through CA's like crazy.

i just hit a pothole big enough to destroy 2 wheels and tires [think
'pac-man'] but my CA's [as far as i can tell] are ok. which is nice bc
they have 4k miles on them.

i LOVE the 200 =) if i could have 2 cars in sf that or an old s4 would
be my pic. i miss my 88 5kcstq dearly. that car was SO FUN. lockable
diff = crazy traction.

my a4 has had all the usual stuff go wrong - upper control arms,
TRE's, turbo, cat snapped at slip joint [the only breakdown],
thermostat, abs controller, airbag controller, leaky ps hose clamps..
no MAF failure tho! [yet.. shouldn't have said that.. now i'm gonna
pay.. ]. all of it is easy to fix, parts are cheap and a lot of it i
did as part of other maintenance [ca's and tre's when i did the
shocks].

i love my a4. it's a kickass little car. cheap, small and easy to park
but tons of space inside - im a HUGE fan of the flip down rear seats.
that was the big problem with the 4k and 90, IMO. i couldnt fit
anything inside the car [bikes, boards, etc.] w/out a rack, and i just
hate having stuff stuck to the roof. i can get 2 FS mtn bikes in the
back of the a4 with front wheels off. of 3 boards and full weekend
gear + 2 passengers.

it puts the SPORT in SUV. especially when i'm blowing by them at 60 on
I-80 on hardpack snow in a blizzard. and i get ~30mpg.

i really wanted a b5s4 next, but the more i think about it i want a b6
a4. and an apr stage 3 setup.. =)
