5kcstq project car crossroads

Oh yeah forgot about that part... so make that a 5K body unless you like
carrying a sawzall to Steamboat to cut off the broken bits. :-) I think
Audi's bean counters looked at the 5K bumpers and said "Crap we can't make
much profit on door handle and hydraulic hose parts lets _fix_ the bumpers".

I got through my fourth Steamboat and all I need is some more bumper mounts
after a few Apex modifications and a stuff on the straight. The 80s 5K
bumpers are truly amazing.

Mind you DeWitt's car looks a little too nice for the kinds of things I do
to the LT-1Q.

I agree with Peter, EXCEPT if you're planning on running around Steamboat.
The V8's bumper composition (front and rear) does not take kindly to impacts
with snowy banks if anything harder than powder (believe me, I know). The
5000's OTOH, have virtually damage-proof bumpers. Right, Peter?

DeWitt,

I'd find out if Kennedy's adapter fits and LS1 and really go to town:
http://www.kennedyeng.com/other.htm

The Kennedy adapter is what Rob Dupree used to build the LT-1Q. The LS1 is
lighter and shorter than the LT1 so it should make for an easier conversion
and 345 stock HP ;-)

Un unloved early V8 Audi might be a better choice for the body though...

I really shouldn't encourage other people to build "franken cars" but I
can't help it.

Cheers
