NG with blown head gasket...how long can it run like that?

I drove one for a few thousand miles that way. I
thought it was the heater core, so I fixed that first,
but it was both. The hard part about doing that is you
don't really know when it's going to really blow and
not hold pressure anymore. Mine will still run, but
once the engine warms up all the way then I have to
stop and let it cool, not very convenient.

I say go for it! The whole thing is about adventure
right!?! Worse case...it dies you junk it and take the
bus home! Best case you make it and have one hell of a
story!!! If you were one who worried alot, you
wouldn't consider driving a $250 car from New York to
New Orleans.

When is this event and what are the rules. I've got a
4kq I bought for $200, and I love both New York and
New Orleans! Maybe you need a driving partner!

Hope I helped!
