Also, the new cars require wholesale replacement of control units- that
starts getting
really expensive. How much the MMI control panel?

What features are missing in, say, a '93 S4? ESP, EDL, nav, adaptive bixenon
lighting,
brake assist, side airbags, what else?

You can get all of that stuff in a $30k TSX. What's your point?

Highest ranked German car manufacturer doesn't mean a whole lot these days.
Hyundai
has very good ratings these days, better than any of the Germans.
