cooling system gunk

My 91 20V overflowed a bit the other day while just idling. It seemed all
rusty. I added some orange coolant. Was this a mistake?
I did have the water pump changed last summer by some bozos who couldn't
reset the timing correctly.Maybe they added the wrong coolant.
