4000 sunvisor clips in a Coupe GT....it works!!!..

a few months ago i was trying to find out where i could get some sunvisor 
clips for the '85-'87 CGT.   as most of you know, they always crumble like an old 
stale cookie and are impossible to find good used.

anyway i had grabbed some sunvisor clips from a '86 4000 ( the 4k ones never 
go bad) the last time i hit the junkyard, and brought them home and they 
werent the same ones as the CGT so i just threw them in the glovebox. (4k uses 1 
screw, CGT uses 2 screws)

so yesterday as i was readying the CGT for its new owner i took the 4k clips 
out of the glovebox and said, what the hell....let me try this..

so i took the 2 screws out of the old disintegrated CGT sunvisor clips..and i 
removed the washer from one,  and put the 4k sunvisor clip up there, with one 
screw.  then ran the other screw and washer back up into the unused hole.

it fits!  not only does it fit, it works well and looks good!   when theyre 
installed and visors clipped into them, it hides the other unused hole, so its 
not even an issue of "aesthetics" for you purists. 

am i the first one who has ever tried this?   im amazed that people will pay 
$15+ each for "NOS" or whatever CGT sunvisor clips when ones from the same 
year 4k work just as well, and are usually freebie pocket items at your local 
pick and pull..

 anyway..  just thought i'd share this with other CGT owners..
