John, one nice upgrade that I had on my '87 5000 tqa was the Intended
Acceleration chip and stiffer wastegate spring. This makes these I-5
turbocharged cars simply FLY! In fact, this mod made my car faster than a
lot of newer vehicles on the road, much to many a driver's chagrin.

Of course you'll want to have everything very well sorted out when you start
running higher boost in these cars, particularly fuel delivery and all
hoses, etc.
