4Motion driveshaft question

I have a 2000 VW Passat 4Motion and the bushing in my
driveshaft has failed. It is a sealed unit(or so I
have been told by the dealer) so the only option is to
replace the entire driveshaft. New is $1200...but I
have found one out of a 2004 Passat 4Motion...are they
the same? The body styles changed mid-year of
'01...did any of the mechanicals? Thanks!
