Diesel Debate

I just ran the numbers for a Jetta SE versus a Jetta TDI as a company car
(20,000 miles per year for business use).
Right now, at 20K per year, even factoring in the incentive.... not worth
the TDI. That said, it doesn't make sense to me in the long term that fuel
WON'T go up and diesel won't stabilize closer to petrol. And the resale on
the TDI should be better than the SE... but that's just a guess. So we
might take the gamble and buy a TDI anyhow. It's replacing a really nice
Passat GLX (Audi AWD driveline) with 235,000 miles... which will be for sale
soon.
