Folks,

While many of us are car enthusiasts, and it's almost impossible to  
consider Audis in isolation from the rest of the automotive world,  
please consider your post and how it contributes to the value of the  
ongoing thread.
Slight tangents are OK, but as topics diverge, take it to private  
email, or use the offtopic list that exists on this server for that  
very reason.

For example:
"I'm having trouble with the fuel pump on my 84 4kq.  Is there a  
better replacement than the standard Bosch?"

Good replies:
"Yes, go with Bosch 74635281910010, it's an uprated unit used  
originally on the Sport quattro.  In addition to providing better  
flow, it uses a carbonium alloy butterfly so it's indestructible, and  
also half the price."

Bad replies:
"My fuel pump went out once on my 73 Pinto.  I was able to keep it  
running by filling a Coke bottle and gravity feeding straight into the  
carb."

Further bad replies degrading the thread:
"Wow, I remember the Pinto.  I had this hot date that looked like  
Carol Alt, she was amazing."
"Carol Alt?  She's still amazing.  Did you see her on the Apprentice?"

Is it ever really this bad?  Most of the time no, but lately it's  
gotten bad enough that I've received a number of complaints, enough so  
where I felt I had to spell it out.

Bottom line:  this list is about Audis.  Before hitting send, ask  
yourself, does this post add to the value of this list?  If not, email  
directly to the previous person, or take the discussion to the  
offtopic area.
