thanks Ben!
the giac ecu i have is socketed, but i didn't actually pull the chip out
before driving an hour and a half to try the apr chip.
turns out giac puts an adapter socket on the board such that pins are up,
and the chip is female. the apr chip was male, needing a female board
socket. as if i needed another reason to not like giac..
so i passed on it, i'll just try to find a chipped ecu to swap. but if
another chip comes up i know who to ask!!!!
