Battery life

My Mom's 2001.5 Passat GLX 4mo has the original battery and it was tested as
Good by the dealer when she last went in for an oil change. Of note, my Mom
drives less than 30 miles a week and only one trip in the week is over 8
miles. So far, I'm impressed, but since I'm over 120 miles away, we're
replacing her battery anyway as a precaution.
