Actually, my A1 Rabbit Diesel ALWAYS started well, except when I somehow
ran the battery down (those darned "always on" radios). Nice thing about
bump
starting a diesel. If it catches at all, it starts. No stumbling.
My Oil Burning Bunny had a diferent problem. I bought it as a beater and it
was, so it leaked water. I was a ROYAL pain to scrape the inside of the
windshield to clear it. Can't scrape the hatch glass, (heater element) and
unfortunately my re-defog was pretty darned slow.
I must've been pushing hard, however, 'cuz I had a relatively flat highway
run to work, 60 miles door to door, and all I could get was 41 MPG.
