Correct you are, Huw! In my situation, which I've described, I would have
rather avoided temp tags and just registered the car. The catch is in CO,
when you are registering a car that has been titled in a different state,
you have to have a VIN check done on it. Basically you can pay a cop $10 (in
Vail) to do this or if you are lucky the Eagle County DMV folks will walk
out to the car and make sure the VIN on the vehicle matches the title.

I wonder, though, if things are any easier in the EU. Given my sister's
experience in registering her (CA plated VW which she shipped) car in Spain,
I kinda doubt it.
