Where is the thermostat on a 12 valve V6?

Unfortunately with the V6 you might as well do the timing belt at the same  
time, which should also involve changing the idler pulleys etc. You are  
looking at a $1000 (+ or -) job. It's probably best to find some gear-head  who will 
take the car 'as is' at a discount. If you put the $ into the  repair, it 
makes a good selling point for the next 90K. Check out selling prices  (ouch!), 
do the math, have a beer and make the decision while you marvel at the  German 
engineering which requires major surgery to do a Thermostat.
