It is do-able, as I just did the same thing in Dec.
with my '93 100.
However, you'll need to mark the plate that slides
back & forth (the one removed with the 3 bolts INSIDE
the circular thing). Otherwise you will be in for a
surprise with your front end behavior.
If the car has not had front end service, you should
replace the bearing, bushing and all that other good
stuff. going "all the way" WILL require the removal
of the strut from the car and a spring compressor.
