Hollow Sound

Hello Max,,,,,There is a hollow metal volume of considerable size in front
of / below the windshield, which contains cabin air intake and heater/AC
blower motor, and the fuse box, and usually a bug cluster of dead leaves
and twigs and organic debris. You see it best when you raise the hood and
stand near one of the side mirrors.

Something could be loose and rolling about in there.

Examination requires removal of the plastic tray, which forms the upper
surface of this volume. First step is to remove the rubber foam seal at the
front of the tray, running from one side of the engine compartment to the
other. It lifts up and off of a sheetmetal crimped seam.

Be cautious about cracking the plastic tray as you loosen the grip of the
many clips that hold the tray in place. Replacement trays are not available
at your local hardware store. I repaired the holes and cracks in my tray
with adhesive metallic tape used in the heating and air conditioning industry.

Clean out all the leaves and debris while you are in there. And have a chat
with your blower motor, which seldom sees anyone, ever.

When driving and hitting bumps, holes in road I hear a hollow plastic or
metal container jiggling noise in the front right dash area. It is as if
some container is not fastened correctly. When driving on smooth road there
are no such hollow sounds. Any ideas?
