Max,

Sorry to hear about your elbow. Hopefully it heals quickly. BTW, at
least she can drive a manual........Not many people can even do that
anymore.

As for the fix:
I'd actually start with the window frame alignment. BTDT on several
type 44 cars.

You pull the inner door panel. Then, find the four bolts (usually 13mm
head) that hold the window frame to the door skin. The bottom ones
usually have some body shims in them. Use the movement in the holes,
as well as possibly more or less shims to get the frame exactly where
you want it. You can use washers if you don't have body shims around.

Just keep playing with it till it's where you want it, then take the
car for a drive. I usually leave the door panel off for the test
drive, just in case there is more adjustment to be made.
