Ignition switch?

Hello Everyone,

I have an '03 Passat, V6, 5SPM. Every now and then the car just does not start when I turn the key. If I turn the ignition off and try again, then it usually starts. I suspect the ignition switch. The battery is also the original.
I remember reading on this forum that some Audi models (A6?) like to have their ignition switch replaced regularly. Does anyone know which model(s) is (are) that? I would like to compare the ignition switch part numbers in the FA, this car could have the same switch.
