Definitely a quattro. I might not have the model year correct, but I
do recall hearing that it was one of the very first 4000 quattros
imported or somesuch. There was something unusual about its
circumstances.
I finally found a dealer willing to take me out for an extended test
drive. I've picked up some sense of the car from a few short test
drives, most of which were back when the A3 first came out, but not
much. I did get the sense that the DSG is improved- when I test drove
an A3 3.2 DSG a few years ago, "awkward" was the best way to describe
stop-and-go driving.
