Depending on the year, the CC head is plug and play with the Cadillac
version. I had one I used in the 5KS many moons ago, replaced it with a
bone yard "Audi" unit. Couldn't get used to the blue readout and the
chromed plastic of the Caddy unit. A lister had a page up with part
numbers etc. on using the Cadillac sensor fan in the Audi (about $150
price difference IIRC.) The CC is GM, one of the things that should be
kept in mind is that if you use a GM spec'd compressor, you shouldn't use
the GM pulley. The Audi pulley is a different ratio than the GM ones.
About the commonality, I'd have to disagree. With modern manufacturing
techniques the manufacturers seem to be doing the opposite, making parts
that are unique to a single model, year, or even day of manufacture. You
can't get the correct parts for many vehicles now without a vin number,
and it seems to be getting worse. The Japanese learned of this revenue
enhancement technique long ago, even the simplest of suspension or
exhaust parts are usually dealer only propositions because they're unique
and don't have enough volume to interest the after market manufacturers.
