> Now's the time to break out your Bentley and go for it.  There's a pretty detailed procedure for diagnosing problems like this, and you don't need a lot of special tools.  Essentially, a  DVOM and a maybe diode type test light would get the job done.  Note that ignition control units fail more often than distributors (hall senders), but we're gonna be seeing more age related failures of ALL electrical components as time goes on.  John
