1984 4k - no start

Maybe we should go back to the basic issues.
Is this car just quitting as if someone turned off a switch? I mean total
loss in a instant or it stumbling down very quickly as say a vacuum leak or
fuel starvation would cause. Instant shut-off says ignition/spark (or not
enough spark).
