Well, we could debate this forever. My point is that there are many
instances where a car could lose power and the driver has to figure
out how get the car out of traffic. They should be able to do that!
Six lanes, grandma, rush hour, on the cell phone, blah, blah... all
excuses to blame someone else.
Gee what would they do if going down a hill and the master cylinder
fails? Do they try the e-brake; maybe downshift? No, let's crash
and sue the manufacturer instead.
Running out of gas was just an example to illustrate losing power. I
guess you missed the analogy.

Really, Bob? On a six lane interstate at rush hour, grandma loses the
transmission...yeah, I see your point, these lazy old folks should keep
in shape if they want to drive the finest in German craftsmanship.
Are you really comparing the negligent act of letting a vehicle run out
of fuel, to buying an Audi? The driver should have known buying an Audi
would get stranded and prepared accordingly, or if they're stupid enough
to run out of gas they're dumb enough to buy an Audi? I just don't see
Audi incorporating this in their advertising anytime soon.
I'm almost as confused as a DSG with a bad temp sensor.
