VAG question

Does anyone have a lead on repair info and/or a used manual for a Eurovan?
Also a cheap, used 2X2-to-OBD 2 adapter for sale or info how to make such
would be nice.  Got this '92 Eurovan that won't start and (I'm told) won't
shift into 4th gear - auto tranny.  I have the OBD 2 interface all legit
from ross-tech but works for newer cars only.  I'd buy an adapter and a rep.
manual new, just am not sure if I'll keep it.
