Subject: aero blades more fragile?
So my dealer can't figure out what is wrong with my car, but they can
apparently send me email warning me not to use my wipers to clear
snow.
In all my years of owing two type 44's, I never had a single wiper
malfunction, and I sure as hell used 'em to clear snow all time :).
My folks' 960 had wiper arms made of ubertanium and it seemed like
they could move a zillion pounds of snow off. Yet today, the Volvo
dealer says "over 300 people came in with wiper problems after the
last snowfall."
Is this a problem with aero blades of the last couple of years, or yet
another thing I have Ford to thank for? :)

Well, if your snowfall was like ours Saturday night, we had very wet snow which turned to freezing
rain, then froze overnight, meaning the wipers were very much stuck to the windshield. That could have
certainly messed up the wiper motor along with the blades, if the wipers are being left on, like most
people do..... Pull in the driveway, shut off the lights, shut off the car, leaving the wipers, HVAC and radio
in the 'on' positions. Makes me crazy. Not that I'm anal or anything.
