A4 Avant spewing oil

So this can be spotted before it drains the pan? Reason I am asking is that I have been smelling an 'oily burning'
smell very occasionally for about 10 days now, generally after a firm stop and only when stopped. Wonder if it
could be related to this o-ring deal.

o-ring preemptively.

normally they will leak a bit of oil around the filter for some time before
they up and fail, so you will usually have a little warning. highly
recommended preemptive repair.. 24 mm big nut iirc..
